I believe motherhood is a sacred rite of passage and a transcendental stage in a woman's life. It is my intention to support you and nurture you during this very special time. I offer a variety of services to accommodate your growing needs, celebrate your pregnancy, and support you in your transition!
PREGNANCY CARE
• Birth Doula: Birth Doulas are non-medical birth coaches with expertise in pregnancy, labor, and childbirth. We specialize in meeting the emotional needs of you and your family before, during, and after the birth of your baby.
I believe that every woman's journey into motherhood is unique and sacred. My intention as your Doula is to assist you by creating a safe, loving environment where you open to your own Mother Nature.
• Private Childbirth Classes: Six hours of childbirth education facilitated privately in your home and taught in two sessions. Available in English and Spanish.
• Mother Blessing Ceremony: An intimate women's circle with your closest friends that gather to celebrate and honor your journey into motherhood.
• Belly Henna: Belly Henna is a 100% natural way to celebrate and honor your beautiful growing belly. Many mothers choose to get their belly henna done during the last months of pregnancy at their Mother Blessing Ceremony, baby shower or at a private appointment as a way to relax and be pampered before embarking on their birth journey. Henna is also used as a symbol of protection and to wish a safe birth for mother and baby.
• Birth Photography: Capturing the magic of labor and birth with high quality digital images that you will cherish forever.
• Belly Casting: A beautiful way to commemorate your pregnancy, our castings are constructed of high quality plaster strips that are contoured to permanently enshrine your body's transformation during pregnancy.
• Pregnancy Support Circle: Mama Rising are FREE weekly support circles for pregnant mamas. Connect and grow as we explore and discuss important topics that support your transformation.
POSTPARTUM CARE
• Breastfeeding Expertise and Support: Many women need and all women deserve support when starting their breastfeeding journey or when an issue arises. I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) willing and honored to guide you through the process of breastfeeding to help you reach your individualized goals. I am passionate about protecting and promoting breastfeeding as I believe it to be an essential part of growing a healthy baby and deepening the bond between mama & baby. I offer prenatal group and private breastfeeding classes, as well as postnatal support, and assistance in English and Spanish. Home visits and clinic visits are available.
• Postpartum Doula: A Postpartum Doula is an experienced, nurturing woman who comes to your home and provides educational, emotional, and physical support in the weeks and months following the birth of your baby.
• Sealing Ceremony: This traditional postpartum care practice is intended to bring back warmth and closure into your body after giving birth. Begins with a warm bath of healing herbs and adorned with flowers to honor your body and process your birth experience. Followed by a gentle warming womb massage with essential oils. And ends with a full body rebozo tuck in where the whole body is physically and energetically sealed after the opening experience of birthing.
• Belly Binding: A Bengkung Belly Wrap provides your postpartum body with complete support that assists in the retraction of the abdominal wall, improves posture, stabilizes loosened ligaments, and strengthens the torso while vital organs return to their usual size and position.
• Placenta Encapsulation: Honor and benefit from the magical properties your placenta has to offer with a choice of two different methods to dehydrate, powder, and encapsulate your placenta for consumption. Reputed benefits include a decreased in postpartum mood disorders, increased energy levels, restoration of iron levels, and increased milk supply. Additional options such as tinctures, prints and umbilical cord dreamcatchers are also available.
• Postpartum Support Circles: We are rising together and sharing the sacredness of the postpartum journey.
Our intention is to build community and support new families after the birth of their baby.
Mama Rising Postpartum are 4 week long support gatherings to connect, uplift, and share our experiences as parents. We’ll weave community support into a nourishing time together. We invite guest speakers to share their expertise on relevant parenting, health & fun topics.
