CFBN in 2023: What We’ve Done and Where We’re Going

Greetings Central Florida Families and Birth and Allied Health Professionals!!

As some of you may remember, over 10 years ago the original iteration of the Central Florida Birth Network was lovingly created by birth and allied health professionals in our community with the goal of “educating, supporting, and empowering women and their families throughout the birth process”. They successfully carried out their mission to serve the community with dedication for several years before the board dissolved and the network went silent.

However, in 2022 the current iteration of CFBN was born! Beginning with a desire to see change brought to Central FL and armed with a few good ideas, the new Central Florida Birth Network began with only 3 Founding Members and a pocket full of hope. Thankfully it didn’t take long for interest and excitement to grow and now, along with approximately 500 Facebook group members, the Central Florida Birth Network Membership continues to grow with 30 current members, an official website, and real-deal financial statements!

With that in mind we wanted to take the time to thank you for helping us grow to this point and highlight some of the things we were able to do this year, because of you:

  • A comfort/nursing tent at the 2023 Earth Day festival in Apopka

  • Several lunch and learn opportunities throughout the year that educated and connected our birth and allied pros

  • Childbirth options class for parents

  • Headshot day with Rubi from Every Amma

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum Circles offered at area libraries

Check out some pictures below of just some of the events, meet ups, and workshops we’ve been able to put on this year because of your support and read on for how you can support us in the coming year!

Central Florida families once again have access to the number one birth network that provides resources, support, education, and advocacy for holistic pregnancy and birth care in our community and we have expanded our mission to include encouraging deep community for individuals, families, and birth and allied health professionals.

We understand that community driven support begins with community minded individuals, like you, which is why we understand the importance of connectedness and collaborations and will begin a fundraiser for Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

During this two week long fundraiser we will be collaborating with you, our community, to spread the word about the Central Florida Birth Network and how we support families!

If you are interested in collaborating and helping us in the lead up to our fundraiser to further our mission, consider taking the following steps:

  • Like and follow us on Facebook and IG

  • Let your followers know how to find us and share our website or socials

  • Share or submit a video or image, highlighting why you love CFBN, to be shared online

Again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your encouragement and support during the last year, it means a lot to us. We look forward to many more years of collaborating with you to honor and support our community! You are the reason for our success and we cant do it without you.
