Domestic Violence 101: Recognize, Respond, and Refer in Perinatal Care

  • Virtual Learning Session (map)

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Central Florida Birth Network and Harbor House of Central Florida invite birth and perinatal care professionals to this essential training. Domestic violence and intimate partner violence (IPV) can profoundly affect pregnant and postpartum clients, and knowing how to recognize, respond, and refer is crucial for providing holistic, culturally responsive care rooted in Reproductive Justice.

In this session, you will:
✨ Identify signs and risk factors of abuse
✨ Respond with trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approaches
✨ Connect clients to trusted community and clinical resources

Led by Victoria Blankenship, MSML (She/Her), Project Manager at the Family Justice Center – Harbor House of Central Florida, this training combines evidence-based strategies with real-world examples to strengthen your ability to support client safety, improve health outcomes, and maintain continuity of care.

This is a must-attend session for professionals committed to serving their communities with care, dignity, and justice. You’ll leave empowered with practical skills to better protect your clients and yourself while advancing safe and equitable perinatal care.
