Our Team

Sarah Foster | She/They
Co-Chair, Community Engagement

Sarah Foster is a nurturing force of nature—a BADT-trained Full Spectrum Doula, a Childbirth Educator, and a deeply committed Repro Justice Advocate. Rooted in Central Florida, Sarah offers intuitive, holistic support to individuals and families, guiding them through the full spectrum of reproductive experiences. When she's not engaging in transformative birth conversations, she’s recharging with friends over Mexican food or finding balance and serenity in her garden.

As the Community Outreach Coordinator and Co-Chair of CFBN, Sarah's purpose is to cultivate vibrant, meaningful connections within the community, reminding others to align with their inner wisdom and values. She believes that when we connect to our true selves, we empower our overall wellbeing and embrace life’s journey with authenticity and strength.

Sarah’s path began more than 20 years ago when she became a teen mother, relying on the intuition and wisdom of the strong women in her community. She witnessed how deeply our lived experiences affect how we’re treated during pregnancy and birth, and how that treatment shapes our ability to parent in harmony with our truest selves.

Currently, Sarah channels her advocacy through her leadership at CFBN and her volunteer work with Black in Repro (BIR), combining both roles to champion reproductive justice for Black individuals and families. Through these efforts, she nurtures a strong network of support, creating spaces where people can reclaim their narratives and receive the holistic, compassionate care they deserve. Guided by her own experiences and the belief that every person’s journey should be honored, Sarah is committed to ensuring that everyone—regardless of their background—has access to judgment-free, nurturing support.

Nicolle Maldonado Arendt, LM She/Her/Ella
Clinical Consultant

Nicolle Maldonado Arendt, LM (she/her/ella) is a Puerto Rican Florida Licensed Midwife that has been attending births since 2018 across both coasts of Central Florida. Nicolle serves as the Clinical Consultant of the Central Florida Birth Network, providing guidance for CFBN initiatives from the clinical perspective while navigating professional and collaborative approaches to tackling intersectional issues with attaining equitable healthcare.

Nicolle passionately serves her community through her home birth practice, Mother of Thousands Midwifery. The philosophy behind Mother of Thousands Midwifery is to, "leave a little love everywhere you go," by using education along with unwavering support to help families uncover and unleash their power as they explore the world of growing a baby and becoming parents.

Nicolle's path to midwifery began at 5 years old when her mother achieved her successful VBAC with the birth of her younger sister, but she began walking in midwifery many years later after witnessing a close friend and doula client receive neglectful care during her childbirth experience that resulted in her almost losing her life due to racial bias. Nicolle has since relied on the intuition instilled within her lineage as the great-great-granddaughter of a Puerto Rican traditional midwife and the knowledge passed onto her from each midwife she has learned from, to advocate for each family she serves through informed decision making to maintain a safe and inclusive birth experience.

Nicolle spends her free time enjoying her family, gardening, hiking, learning new things, traveling, and participating as an active member of Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated.
